A Harrah woman is facing assault and battery charges after allegedly abusing a handicapped man in her care on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City Police were called to investigate an assault and battery at a home in the 6500 block of Saddleback Dr., near SE 59th St. and S. Post Rd. just before 9 p.m.

When officers arrived they met with the victim's brother, Donnie Gordon, who told police that his brother's caretaker was abusing his brother, knocking him out of his wheelchair.

The witness, and primary provider, told police his brother, Johnny, was left paralyzed from a car accident and needed someone to permanently care for him. He also said the accident affected his brother's ability to communicate.

Donnie told police that 48-year-old Bonnie Davis was his brother's primary caregiver in the evening.

According to police Donnie said he was in a back room of the house when he heard Davis yelling at his brother. When he came into the room he said Johnny was on the ground and Davis told him he accidentally fell while she was trying to move him from a chair to his wheelchair.

Donnie told police he helped Davis get his brother into the wheelchair, but then he said she became angry and started to yell. Donnie then says she began to hit him with a belt buckle and a Lysol can.  She then went into the backyard.

Donnie said when she came back inside 10 minutes later and he and his brother were sitting at a table in the back room. He told police she sat down with them for a moment and then got up to walk out but Johnny's wheel chair was in the way.

Donnie said Davis yelled, "Get the f*** out of my way," but Johnny was physically unable to move. Donnie said Davis then grabbed the wheelchair and tipped Johnny over on his side. Because of his paralysis, Johnny could not brace himself for the fall, and was left with abrasions on his right arm and torso.

Donnie got out his cell phone and took photos of his brother's injuries before calling police. When police arrived he said he wanted to press charges against Davis for assaulting his brother. He did not, however, wish to pursue charges for her alleged assault on him.

Officer placed Davis under arrest and transported her to the Oklahoma County Jail. She was charged with one felony count of assault and battery. Her bond was set at $4,000.
