Police Find Colorado Truck Driver Missing In Warr Acres

WARR ACRES, Oklahoma -- Police in Warr Acres have found a truck driver who went missing on Tuesday in Warr Acres.

Gary Wayne Near was last seen Tuesday walking from the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on N.W. 63rd and MacArthur. Police tell us Near stopped at that Wal-Mart to make a delivery at around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, and was last seen walking towards the Warr Acres Post Office.

Near is 55 years old. He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 240 pounds. He has brown eyes and hair. He's balding and has a mustache. He was last seen wearing a light-colored, short-sleeve button-up shirt and khaki shorts.

Near is from Fort Collins, Colorado, but was in Warr Acres making deliveries. He had stopped at Wal-Mart to make that delivery and inadvertently locked himself out of the cab of his truck, according to police.

Wal-Mart employees were making arrangements to unlock Near's truck when he disappeared. His cell phone and all personal belongings and papers where left in the truck and Near has not been heard from since.

At about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, police confirmed that Near was found safe. Warr Acres police said there was not any foul play.

According to Warr Acres police, Near was working on finding a way home when he saw that he had been reported missing on the news. He immediately borrowed a cell phone and called police.

Officers brought Near to his truck so he could collect some of his belongings. They then took him to the bus station so he could return home.
