ME: Victim In NE OKC Officer-Involved Shooting Died By Gunshot Wound To The Head

 The Office of the Medical Examiner reported the cause of death for a man shot and killed by police officers after a pursuit in NE Oklahoma City was a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death was determined to be homicide, according to the Medical Examiner.

According to police, at about 8:30 p.m., officers attempted to pull over a vehicle in the area of NE 28th and Laird. However, the driver, later identified as 39-year-old Jerry Nowlin, refused to stop for officers. 

The driver crashed during the pursuit. Then, police said he ran from his vehicle. 

As officers pursued on foot, police said Nowlin brandished a firearm and pointed it at the officers. The officers then discharged their weapons and shot Nowlin.
