Fire Crews Battle Wellston Grass Fire

Multiple fire crews battled a grass fire just north of Wellston in Lincoln County.
Firefighters responded to the area of 3310 and 875 Road shortly after 1:00 p.m. A home in the area was threatened by the blaze, but they were able to contain that fire.
Deputies on scene discouraged any travel to the area and asked residents to take alternate routes as the fire continued to build due to wind conditions. After a couple of hours firefighters were able to gain control and contain the area.
No mandatory evacuations were put into place.
No structures were lost.
