A Chickasha family is still dealing with the shock of losing its patriarch.
David Goad, 46, died Wednesday morning.
He was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle to work in Maysville on South Highway 19.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said a pickup coming from the opposite direction turned left in front of Goad’s motorcycle.
Troopers said Goad died at the scene.
Goad was a newlywed who had nine children.
His son, Andrew, just graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford on Saturday.
He’s supposed to leave Monday a job in Bentonville, Arkansas, as a computer programmer for Walmart Corporation.
“He told everyone about it. I was the first one of his children to graduate from college, and he was really excited about it,” he said. "I mean there aren’t any words for it. This is something that you never think would happen to you and something that, uh, no one ever prepares for.”
Andrew Goad said his family plans to establish a memorial fund in his fathers’ name at a local bank on Monday.
