Protesters gathered at the Caddo County Courthouse Friday morning, demanding justice for an inmate who recently died at the Caddo County Jail.
About 50 people attended the protest at 9 a.m. at the Caddo County Courthouse in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They are demanding justice for Darius Robinson, who died in the Caddo County Jail back in April. Authorities said Robinson attempted to escape his cell when jailers entered to clear items from the cell he had destroyed. When jailers tried to restrain Robinson, he stopped breathing.
Jail staff attempted CPR and resuscitated Robinson, but he later died at the hospital in Anadarko.
Robinson was in the jail for failing to pay child support. An autopsy report for the father of seven revealed that he was strangled.
