The MLB trade deadline has come and gone, and seeing the Los Angeles Dodgers failed to move outfielder Yasiel Puig before Monday's 3 p.m. deadline, it looks like the Cuban outfielder is making the move to Oklahoma City.

The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced Puig's demotion to the OKC Dodgers on Tuesday afternoon.
The #Dodgers officially send Yasiel Puig to minors in wake-up call. Be interesting to see if he has played his last game in LA #MLB uniform

According to Puig's agent Adam Katz, this has been the Dodgers intention after failing to trade him.
"The club informed me and the player understood clearly that they were making every effort to trade him," Katz told the AP, "and that if they were unable to come to terms with another club on a trade — and successful in acquiring another outfielder — that he likely would be demoted."
The thought of Puig's demotion only strengthened when Los Angeles acquired Josh Reddick from the Athletics, knocking Puig even farther down the totem pole of Dodgers' outfielders.
Who'da ever thunk it? OKC loses Durant. And gets Puig. Not an even trade. @NEWS9 #ESPN @OKCThunder. #OKCDodgers

Fox Sports reported that the Dodgers didn't bring Puig on the plane to Denver for the upcoming series against the Rockies.
Puig's career jumped out to a dazzling start after signing a seven-year $42 million dollar deal in 2012 and making the all-star team in 2014 before struggling in each of the last two seasons. Puig is hitting .260 in 81 games this year, but after sitting out with a hamstring injury to start June, Puig has hit .308 since his return to the lineup while going 3-for-5 in Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Puig clearly isn't performing like he once was, but he'll likely draw a lot of attention and bring more fans out to Chickasaw Bricktown ballpark. And who knows, Puig may even revitalize his career with the OKC Dodgers.
