OKC Crews Called To Several Water Rescues Due To Severe Storms

First responders were busy Tuesday night in Southwest Oklahoma City as severe storms caused flash flooding in the area.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department reported assisting 26 vehicles stranded in high water at different locations around 9 p.m.

Around 8:30 p.m. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said I-44 southbound from Northwest 23rd Street to Southwest 15th Street was closed due to high water.

News 9 was on the scene, and on the story in southwest Oklahoma City where the majority of the flooding was reported. 

As a reminder, motorist are urged not to drive in high water, always turn around.
