A Tulsa County judge sentenced an 18-year-old to life in prison for shooting and killing a man in 2023.
Authorities say Jose Cardona-Perez shot and killed Jorge Santos after a fight started outside a restaurant near 61st and Garnett. He was 16 at the time of the shooting
Investigators say Perez showed up to school two days later, wearing the same clothes he had on the night the shooting was caught on surveillance video.
A jury found him guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced him to li fe in prison with the possibility of parole.
Cardona-Perez will receive credit for time served and will also be allowed to complete vocational training and a college education, according to court records. He was advised of the "85% crime" rule.
