CBC Global Ammunition, a world leader in portable weapons ammunition, has selected Pryor as the site of its new U.S. manufacturing facility.
CBC’s new plant will span over 550 acres in the MidAmerica Industrial Park, one of the largest industrial parks in the country. Local leaders are already celebrating the impact the project is expected to have on the community and economy.
The Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce says the arrival of CBC Global Ammunition will support long-standing plans for regional economic development.
“It'll help probably ignite our business here downtown—our small businesses—and bring people in to shop, eat at restaurants, and it will probably impact our housing market too.”
Brittain emphasized Pryor’s transportation infrastructure as a key reason companies are choosing the area.
“We have Highway 69 that runs right through town, so that infrastructure provides transportation for companies that want to move here.”
According to research from the Tulsa Regional Chamber, the CBC facility is expected to create 350 direct jobs, with a ripple effect producing 634 additional jobs in the region.
Local business owner Andrea Mullen, who runs a shop in Downtown Pryor, says the city already sees some spillover from the Industrial Park.
“I hope that people are gainfully employed, and it helps boost the economy, and then it will trickle down to pizza money.”
At Hooker’s Bar and Grill, right next door to the Industrial Park, employee Carson Clayton says they feel the impact every day.
“Our lunch crowd will have every table in here full—men coming in to eat on their lunch breaks. Then we have a lot of guys that come in after work to grab a quick beer.”
She says the busiest hours are from 11 AM to 2 PM, and she loves meeting the diverse crowd that passes through.
“I get to meet all kinds of cool people, especially from all over the world… Google brings in some really cool people and I’ve made some great friendships and connections through it.”
Brittain says the Chamber is ready to support CBC from day one.
“The minute they get here and get settled in, as a chamber, we’ll certainly be out to visit them. We want to promote them. We want to make sure that they're successful.”
The CEO of MidAmerica Industrial Park called the announcement “more than an economic victory—it’s a powerful continuation of our legacy.”
Meanwhile, the President of CBC Global Ammunition released a statement, saying in part:
“We are thrilled to bring our new manufacturing operations to Oklahoma. This facility will be a cornerstone for our future growth in the world’s most important market for small caliber ammunition.”
