Over a dozen Oklahomans with Down syndrome got to see their picture on a billboard in Times Square.

The Nation Down Syndrome Society put out a worldwide call for photos of people with Down syndrome to be a part of its annual Times Square video. Out of 3,000 entries, 13 Oklahomans were chosen.

The Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSAOCO) says this is the type of visibility its organization strives for.

” We just want … our children to be seen for the person that they are, not the diagnosis,” said Sarah Soell, Executive Director for DSAOCO.

The Times Square video was a kickoff to the National Down Syndrome Society's Buddy Walks which happen all around the country.
