A viewer is asking if there's anything that can be done for large pores on their face. Doctor Lacy Anderson has a few suggestions.
Large pores on your face can be due to normal aging of the skin, but those with oily skin often have more of a problem than those with normal skin.
To help with large pores, wash your face twice a day to unclog pores, prevent clogged pores, and reduce oiliness.
Next, use a retinol product at night. This helps reduce oil production, improves acne, and helps your skin build collagen to help reduce your pore size.
Use products containing salicylic acid as well to help unclog pores and help with acne. You can use a salicylic acid wash or toner once to twice daily, but this may be a bit drying to your skin.
Be sure to also exfoliate your skin to make pores less noticeable. You can do this with a clay or charcoal mask once to twice a week or you could do an at home peel once a week. The Ordinary has a wonderful apha-hydroxy peeling solution for under $10 at theordinary.com.
Be sure to protect your face with sunscreen every day as well. If these aren’t helping with your pores, be sure to see a dermatologist for further advice.
