Firefighters Battle Smoke, Flames At Oklahoma City Apartment

Firefighters responded to an apartment fire Tuesday morning in northwestern Oklahoma City, the department said.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department said the fire began at around 2 a.m. at an apartment near Northwest 8th Street and North Walker Avenue.

OKCFD said someone who lived nearby called fire crews because of visible smoke, and firefighters had to cut through chains on gates and remove boards on the house to get to the fire.

No one was hurt, and firefighters did not find anyone inside the building.

Investigators say it's too early to determine the cause of the blaze.
