Garfield Co. Judge Possibly Linked To 2 Shootings, Police Say

A Garfield County judge is being linked to a road rage shooting in Texas after a bullet was recovered on scene by the Austin Police Department.

Investigators say back in September, Judge Brian Lovell shot at a driver who cut him off and rammed his car into another vehicle. Lovell was arrested and charged with reckless driving.

Lovell claims that the driver cut him off and he doesn't remember firing his gun, according to police.

New court documents reveal the shell casings recovered in Austin, Texas, match a different case in Bison, Oklahoma, where an unknown gunman shot into Lovell's brother-in-law's home.

Nobody was hurt in either incident.

Garfield County officials say Judge Lovell is not currently handling cases.
