The stakes were as high as they've ever been for a Bedlam matchup.

Not only is it the final scheduled meeting between these in-state rivals, but a spot in the Big 12 Championship was in play for both teams entering Saturday's matchup.

There were big plays, momentum changes, questionable calls and a chance to win it at the end for Oklahoma, but the final chapter of this story ends with the Cowboys on top, 27-24.

1st Takeaway: Minimizing Mistakes Leads To Victory

Every game, every week and every season comes down to winning the turnover battle. That's what Oklahoma State did on Saturday.

The one turnover that the Cowboys did have was a busted trick play that led to a red zone interception for running back Ollie Gordon.

The Crimson and Cream, on the other hand, had three turnovers and two were from poor snaps or handoffs. Mistakes that simply can't be made.

Bowman was also efficient all game and played it by the book. If a play wasn't developing, he'd throw it away to save the down and move on to the next one. It helped the Cowboys keep confidence even as the offense stalled in the middle of the game. The Cowboys also forced Gabriel to throw deep into double coverage to start the second half, resulting in an interception. Bowman likely would have just taken the sack.

2nd Takeaway: Speaking Of Bowman... What A Game!

The Michigan transfer deserves all the credit in the world for his performance in Stillwater against the Sooners.

While all-star running back Ollie Gordon was being (somewhat) contained this game, Bowman was making every crucial throw asked of him when OSU needed it most. His stats tell the story: 28/42 for 334 yards.

Efficient, smart and a W for Bowman and the Cowboys.

A formidable running game makes the quarterback position much easier and Bowman played it to perfection on Saturday.

3rd Takeaway: Owens' Big Day Against The OU Defense

Entering Bedlam, Owens had 27 catches for 309 yards and 1 TD on the season.

Against Oklahoma on Saturday, he had a career-high 10 catches for 136 yards and was the go-to guy for Bowman all night.

He and Presley's explosiveness and ability to break tackles carried the Cowboys' passing game and were a terror for the Oklahoma defensive backs.

The incredible turnaround for Oklahoma State this season continues with a fifth consecutive win and a trip to Florida next week to face UCF.
