1 Arrested; Argument Leads To Gunfire In NE OKC

A woman was arrested after seven complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and for firing a gun from a car, according to Oklahoma City Police.

Police say an argument between roommates over rent escalated into a shooting on Sunday outside a northeast Oklahoma City home. The heated exchange landed Ceirra Dilenola, 33, in jail on serious charges. 

The current resident of the northeast Oklahoma City home is still in shock. She spoke off-camera to News 9 about what she said was a frightening and unexpected exchange with Dilenola over the weekend. The victim told police it started as heated text messages between her and Dilenola. The tenant claimed Dilenola was several months behind in rent and bills, and she wanted to discuss the issue. 

“It escalated to the point of the suspect arriving with a firearm,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, Oklahoma City Police Department.

According to the police report, Dilenola confronted the victims in the driveway with a gun and even pointed the weapon at one of their faces. The woman we spoke to said there were children present. The victims reported Dilenola threatened to kill everyone at the home and shot several times into the air before she left.

“They indicated the suspect had driven past the residence,” said Quirk. “Actually, fired off a couple more rounds before fleeing the area.”

Officers found shell casings outside the home during the investigation. Police located Dilenola in a car with two other people parked at a business a few blocks from the neighborhood.

“Police were able to get in contact with that suspect and ultimately they were apprehended and taken into custody,” said Quirk.

Police said no one was injured from the gunfire.

Dilenola was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on seven complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and for firing a gun from a car. Her bond was set at $50,000.
