The University of Oklahoma has announced tailgating changes for the 2023 football season.
OU said they are adding a public tailgating location on the south side of Lindsey Street and between Asp and Jenkins avenues.
Tailgating will only be permitted on the grass area between the Lindsey Street curb and the north side of the sidewalk. The university also said other campus areas that were designated for private and public tailgating during the 2022 season will still remain.
Set-up times have also changed from previous seasons. Those wanting to set up tailgate equipment at any of the designated areas, besides the Lindsey Street area, will be able to do so at 5 p.m. on the day preceding a home football game, OU said. Spaces are allowed to be occupied at noon, but stakes will not be able to go into the ground until 5 p.m.
Set up for the Lindsey Street area will be allowed to begin at 7 a.m. on the day of home football games. The space is allowed to be occupied beginning at 5 p.m. on the day immediately following the game, but stakes are not allowed to go into the ground until 7 a.m. on game day.
There will be certain roads near the university’s campus closed on game days. Five and a half hours before the home games, all roads around the stadium will be closed, and public parking on campus will be limited. However, public parking will still be available in certain parking lots for $30. Cash and card will be accepted.
