Man Arrested, Accused Of Shooting Mother To Death In NW Oklahoma City

One person is dead and another taken into custody after officers responded to a shooting at an apartment in northwestern Oklahoma City, police said.

Oklahoma City Police said after arriving on scene at around 2:15 p.m. Sunday near North Ann Arbor Avenue and U.S. Route 66, officers found 76-year-old Connie Smith dead.

OCPD said the suspect, 48-year-old Shane Smith, remained at the scene and was taken into custody.

According to OCPD, Shane Smith is the son of the victim.

Smith was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint.
