The Heat Dome is back across Oklahoma with indices between 105 and 115. Dangerous heat for the Sooner State.
Showers and storms will return over the weekend with some chance for severe weather. Oklahoma even has a couple of cool fronts on the 9-Day Forecast.
However, the heat will carry into the weekend for most, according to The Oklahoma Weather Expert David Payne. Most of Oklahoma is dry on Friday, but the News 9 weather team is watching northwest and western Oklahoma for a storm or two.
Showers and storms will happen Saturday afternoon and evening as energy moves across Oklahoma. The most likely area for storms is across the north and northwest parts of the state. The biggest risks are wind and hail.
There will be a 40 percent chance of rain and storms on Sunday afternoon and evening in Oklahoma.
And it'll still be hot, rain or no rain.
A strong cool front will push into the state on Sunday, from the northwest. Storms will develop along the front on Sunday afternoon and evening. Storms will produce some severe weather, too.
A 'low' risk for storms between 6 p.m. Sunday and 3 a.m. Monday
South of this front, it will be mighty hot.
Monday will be much cooler across Oklahoma with many seeing highs only in the 80s, before a second cool front arrives later next week.
