Police are on the lookout for an armed robbery suspect last seen in Bricktown.
The suspect was identified Tuesday shortly after the department posted photos of him on social media. Police have not released the suspect’s name or age.
The suspect was caught on cameras inside Bass Pro Shop last month. Outside the store was where the 52-year-old victim first encountered him.
“This kid says, ‘Ma’am can you help me?,’” the victim said.
The woman noticed he was not wearing shoes and had a pile of clothes next to him. He asked her for a ride to a nearby convenience store.
“So, I gave him a ride to the gas station and then he asked for a ride to the hotel to meet a friend,” the victim said.
Once they were at the hotel, the victim said the suspect's behavior turned from friendly to dangerous.
“He pulls out a gun after supposedly texting and says, ‘Give me everything in your purse,” the victim said.
The suspect was unaware she was also armed. She pulled a handgun from her side of the car door and pointed at him.
“I’m generally not the kind of person people would think I have a firearm on me,” the victim said.
She said the suspect quickly left her car forgetting his phone and drink. He did not get away with her purse or money either.
When officers responded to the victim’s 911 call, they could not find the suspect anywhere in the area. Police are not sure of the suspect's age but need to arrest him before he tries again.
“I hope that maybe my actions scare him, not scare him,” the victim said. “Maybe think twice before he tries to hurt someone.”
