The leader of Oklahoma City's Black Lives Matter is speaking out after the Oklahoma County District Attorney announced Friday she was dropping charges against seven officers involved in three fatal police officer-involved shootings in 2020.

One of the men killed was Bennie Edwards, a Black man.

His death sparked protests in the following days from local Black Lives Matter groups.

The organization's leader says she plans to push for change.

The DA dropped charges in three separate cases, citing Oklahoma's justifiable use of force doctrine.

Seven different lawyers were involved in reviewing the case, and DA Vicki Behenna said the decision was not taken lightly.

The charges were dismissed with prejudice, which means they are permanently dismissed and can’t be refiled,
