A severe storm system moved across northeast Oklahoma on Wednesday, dropping rain and hail to portions of the state from low-hanging clouds in the morning.

News On 6 viewers shared many photos of the storm as it passed.

Severe Weather Update 7:42 a.m. 6/14/23:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Adair, Cherokee, Delaware and Mayes counties until 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning. 

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the storm was located about three miles southeast of Locust Grove and is currently moving east at 35 mph

The NWS says this storm has the potential to produce 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. 

People in the path of the storm are advised to move to an interior room on the first floor of a building

Showers and storms are sweeping across parts of Green Country early on Wednesday morning.

According to Meteorologist Alan Crone, the storms quickly swept across northeastern Oklahoma around 3 a.m.

The strong storms produced some quarter-to-golf ball size hail in parts of Tulsa and Broken Arrow overnight.

Severe Thunderstorm Watches remain in effect for parts of Green Country until 6 a.m. on Wednesday. Alan Crone says the storm could produce more hail as they exit the state.
