The Self Esteem clothing line at one time was really big, in department stores all over the country. They are now relaunching the brand, with Oklahoma City playing a key role.

“Self Esteem is a brand that a lot of people may know and love from the late nineties, the early two thousands,” said Juliana Lopez with the marketing firm Fanology.

The brand was all about empowering young people through style and positive image.

“As things come into fashion and go out of fashion they put their focus onto some other things,” said Lopez.

The company is now relaunching the brand, through the national marketing company Fanology, with a social media focus.

“They are now taking advantage of the fact that Gen Z is absolutely taking over the world,” said Lopez.

They are reaching out to some content creators in Oklahoma City with a major opportunity.

“We’re putting together a collective of Gen Z content creators, ages sixteen to twenty-four to help Self Esteem in that relaunch,” said Lopez.

“The opportunities that are not often afforded to the younger generation of filmmakers and content creators, I saw an opportunity and I just went for it,” said content creator Demitri Peterson.

The clothing company is looking for five to six young people to reach their target audience for the brand. Ashanti Moore believes she is perfect for the job.

“I hope to use it as experience to further my career and do things I love just like this and also show that this brand can really benefit off of me because when I work hard, I really work hard,” said Moore.

The company realizes to reach a younger audience, you have to have to go to where that audience is.

“We’re going to present a whole new presence on social media, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. We’re really heavily focusing on TikTok, because what we do know about Gen Z, is that’s where they’re at,” said Lopez.

“We thought what a better place than Oklahoma, the dead center of the country, to start building content to be able to tell our story here and to be able to build Self Esteem across the country,” said Amy Janes, with Green Pastures Studio.

These are paid positions; applicants must be between the ages of 16 to 24. There are more auditions planned, for the days and times, visit Green Pastures Studio on Facebook.
