A single mom and her six children are struggling after their home burned down in a Lexington house fire. They are hoping some good Oklahomans can help restore hope.

This family of seven is having to live in a trailer after losing everything, and right now, they don't even have running water due to the fire.

Bailey Schivers, 14, described what happened.

"I was in my room and she said oh my gosh there was smoke, and she said to get out of the house, so we all got out."

Tara Springfield said this has brought her family to a halt, but she is pushing forward,

"It just seems like a big stopper.. But I love this house. I had big hopes and big dreams for it."

The family did not have homeowners' insurance, so they lost everything they owned.

Bracie Schivers, the youngest daughter, told me she is devastated,

"I am really sad because this house got burned and stuff and everything in it."

Though they have a strong support system, they said it feels like they have nowhere to turn.

"It's not that they don't love us and it's not that they don't care but my family is numbers," Tara said.

Right now, their first goal is to find somewhere stable,

"This is the time in their life where you are building that foundation," Tara said.

And she is reaching out for help.

"I am always the fix it's person and I can fix anything I pride myself on that, but this got me to the core...The idea of starting over it just scares me because my plans for my future while I'm here is just to take care of them and provide and do what I can."
