Be careful if you're looking for love online, Oklahoma City police are sharing tips to protect you from scams.

Police said to make sure you research your potential love interest to make sure they are who they say they are.

They also said to avoid sending inappropriate photos or financial information to a potential love interest.

The department said they recently worked a case where someone lost $60,000 in a "romance scam".
