Putnam City Schools Boosting Security With New Weapon Detection System On Several Campuses

Putnam City Schools said they are boosting security with a new weapon detection system on some of its campuses. 

The system is designed to detect weapons, whether on a person or in a bag, without stopping the normal flow of traffic.

It takes into account the size, shape, and type of metal objects before going off.

The district said students will start passing through the scanners at all Putnam City high schools on Tuesday.
