Police Respond To Car Fire, Arrest Driver Who Allegedly Fled From Officers

Oklahoma City Police said a man is in custody after responding to a car fire near northwest 36th & Western.

Officers were called to the scene around 1:20 a.m. Thursday morning. When officers arrived, they said the driver got out of the vehicle and ran from police while carrying a child.

According to authorities, when officers tried to get the child from him, he struck one of the officers.

Police were able to catch the man and said he was arrested.

Police said he has been arrested on complaints of a DUI, child endangerment and assault and battery with an officer.
