Early voting is happening across Oklahoma both February 3 and 4.

Despite the weather, roughly a dozen people showed up at the Tulsa County Election Board on February 3.

However, officials said voter turnout is usually lower for these types of elections since it's primarily for school board seats and bond issues.

The state is required by law to have early voting no matter what, including weather conditions.

"There is no provision to stop an election due to weather," said Tommy Neal with the Tulsa County Election Board.

If you live in Tulsa County and vote on Friday, February 4, you can expect to see the following depending on where you live:

  1. City council seats for Sand Springs,
  2. School board seats for Union, Tulsa, and Broken Arrow,
  3. Bond proposals for Bixby and Jenks Public Schools,
  4. and a PSO proposition to let the company occupy city streets to install and maintain power poles.

Tommy Neal with the Election Board said the process is simple.

"You'll come in, fill out what we call a green sheet, which is your request to vote absentee, early in-person. Once that's completed, you'll get your ballot and vote," said Neal.

Early voting will continue from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on February 4.

Election Day is next Tuesday, February 8, from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.
