Warm End To 2021, Winter-Like Conditions Expected To Start 2022

Happy New Year’s Eve! Friday will be warm with highs in the 60s and 70s. Look for gusty winds coming from the southwest.

Scattered showers move in through the afternoon with best rain chances overnight. We may see severe storms in far southern and southeastern Oklahoma Friday night.

The arctic air moves in Saturday morning and the rain will transition to freezing rain, sleet and some snow.

Right now, the biggest impacts and highest totals will be in northwest Oklahoma. We may see a light wintry mix Saturday in Oklahoma City, but widespread travel problems are not expected. Slick spots can’t be ruled out.

A round of light snow is possible Saturday afternoon and evening. Our team of trackers will be out and will keep you updated.
