A man who shot and killed a teenager at a fireworks stand in 2017 pled guilty ton manslaughter in federal court.

Johnny Mize Jr. shot and killed 15-year-old Jake Ulrich after police say he caught the teen stealing fireworks from his stand.

Mize's attorney argued self-defense but prosecutors said the victim and his cousin weren't armed.

A state jury found Mize guilty of first-degree manslaughter in 2019 but his case was dismissed due to the Supreme Court's ruing on tribal jurisdiction.

Mize will be sentenced in April.
