The Oklahoma City VA is beginning to give out vaccines for veterans who fall in the highest risk category of being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Medical officials believe the 65 and older age group is the most at risk.
The VA will be giving out shots to veterans 65 and older, residents at long term care facilities and anyone older than 50 with underlying health conditions.
Eligible veterans, their spouses, and employees can also walk into the VA's vaccine clinic weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The VA is also providing flu shots so you can get all your vaccinations done in one sitting.
"It's not going to be a problem. Just realize the more vaccines you get in a given day, the probability you have of a side effect like pain, soreness, fever and headache," said Dr. Douglas Drevets with OU Health.
