Every year, dove season starts Sept. 1 in Oklahoma and kicks off the start of the fall hunting season.
Wounded Veterans of Oklahoma went on a dove hunt on the morning of Sept. 11 in Garber.
WVO is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for veterans and first responders to get together.
You need a shotgun, hunting license and federal harvest information permit to hunt doves.
Freshly cut grain fields and ponds are excellent places to set up and see birds.
Dove season is open until October 31 and then again from December 1 through the 29.
