Edmond Public Schools Hosting Transportation Job Fair

If you’re looking for a job, there are positions available at Edmond Public Schools. The district has more than 100 positions open for support staff personnel.

Among the district’s openings are 30 bus driver positions.

District leaders said it's a great job for retirees, college students or parents.  

"It keeps you young,” Edmond Public Schools director of communications Susan Parks-Schlepp said. “When you drive a bus, you are interacting with kids every day and you are the first face that they see."

EPS’ career fair hours run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and then again from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is held at the EPS maintenance facility on the 200 block of North Kelly Avenue.

Bus drivers pay starts at $14 per hour with health benefits.

If the district can't find enough bus drivers, it may be up to parents to figure out transportation.

"Without enough drivers, we cannot meet the daily demands of safely transporting our students, and we have over 10,000 students who rely on bus transportation every day,” Parks-Schlepp said.
