Portions of Boulder Avenue will be closed on Friday and Saturday as Welltown Brewery’s Boulder Dash returns to downtown Tulsa. Organizers describe the event as a real-life game of “Mario Cart.”

Organizers said 64 competitors will take part in the tricycle race that starts at the Boulder Avenue bridge and ends in front of the brewery near Archer and Cheyenne. Competitors will have to battle the elements, including dodging water balloons from people on the sidelines.

Jeremy Diamond owns Welltown Brewery and organizes the race. He said the event is family-friendly and with the food, drinks and fun, thousands of spectators could be expected.

“The amount of ramps, the amount of air, the amount of carnage is going to be up there,” said Diamond. “Think about it this way, there’s a lot of things that happened wrong in 2020, this is 100% something happening right in 2021.”

The races start at noon on Saturday. A full map of the road closures can be by Clicking Here.
