The stage is set for a big year at the McKnight Center in Stillwater.

"We really want to reignite the passion for the arts and we're really here to serve all of Oklahoma," said Mark Blakeman, the executive director of the McKnight Center.

The elegant and intimate 1,100 seat theatre at Oklahoma State University opened in October of 2019. but six months later, the lights went out on the arts around the world.

But thanks to the generosity of the McKnight’s, the board and season ticket holders, socially distanced shows were back on in the fall.

"We're somewhere in that maybe 1 or 2 or 3% across the country that really has found a way to continue to function and provide even live performances under the circumstances. We're ready to come back bigger and better than ever," said Blakeman.

Saturday, the center announced the season three lineup. The headliner is three-time Grammy winner Tim McGraw.

"It's such a unique and personal environment," Blakeman said. "It's an opportunity to see this incredible artist who's sold over 80 million records in a very personal way."

Broadway star Bernadette Peters will also be coming to Stillwater for season three.

The Philadelphia Orchestra and Oklahoma opera singer Sarah Coburn will also grace the stage.

Blakeman said he anticipates the center will be at full seating capacity when the curtain goes up for the third season in September.

"We're just incredibly excited to bring people back to the center, and we want to make a big impact on people's lives through the arts."
