News 9 Weather Team Tracks Storms Across Oklahoma

Severe storms continue to move across southwestern Oklahoma, primarily in Tillman and Comanche counties. These storms will approach central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City metro later this evening.

8:30 p.m. Updates:

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Carter, Comanche, Garvin, Jefferson, Love, Murray, Pontotoc, Stephens and Tillman counties until 3:00 a.m.


8 p.m. Updates:

Severe storms continue to move across southwestern Oklahoma, primarily in Tillman and Comanche counties. These storms will approach central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City metro later this evening. Wind and hail are the primary threats, but there is a tornado risk. It's not a high risk, but it's a risk nonetheless.


7:30 Updates:

Storm Timeline as of 6:50 p.m.

Two severe storms in northwest Texas and southwest Oklahoma are moving northeast into central Oklahoma at 35 mph. The primary threat remains to be wind and hail. A low threat of tornadoes is possible.

5:30 p.m. Updates:

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Tillman County until 6:45 p.m.

4:30 p.m. Updates:

Storms are ramping up in far southwest Oklahoma and making there way northeast. Storms will move into central Oklahoma Tuesday evening with a chances of up to golf ball size hail, gusts to 65 mph, and a low tornado threat.

It will be warm and breezy Tuesday with highs in the 70s. Look for mostly cloudy skies Tuesday.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening.

We are expecting more widespread storms overnight Tuesday night. Threats with most storms will be golf ball size hail and winds to 70 mph.

In the far southwest, storms could be a little stronger. Hail up to tennis balls this evening and there will be a low tornado threat in the southwest.
