OKC Police Recruiting New Officers With Hiring Event

The Oklahoma City Police Department is hosting a hiring event on Saturday.

The department says they will have officers available to answer questions and applicants will be tested on their practical and physical skills.

"We'll have our obstacle course set up that people have to run when they're going through the application process. You can do a practice run-through to see what it's like, so you know what to expect when you do it for real," said OKCPD Major Sgt. Gary Knight.

There are some requirements for joining the department. You must be a U.S. Citizen age 21 to 45 and have a high school diploma or a GED. Applicants must have a valid driver's license. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 11 at the OKC Police Training Center at 800 N. Portland Ave.
