The state's second largest school district is now joining Oklahoma City Public Schools in suing the State Board of Education.
Tulsa Public Schools voted unanimously Monday night to take legal action against the state school board over March's controversial lawsuit settlement that would rearrange school funding formulas, giving more money to charter schools.
Jenks, Owasso, Sapulpa and Skiatook are also giving their attorneys permission to file challenges. They join Yukon, Millwood, Shawnee, Lawton and several other districts which have already approved resolution or legal action.
OKCPS says the state's decision could cost them millions.
The OKCPS board is also asking the state to audit its Santa Fe South charter school. The district wants the state auditor to investigate the charter school's last two school years, to make sure the school is complying with state laws.
