Ahead Of The Storm: Tom & Corey

Every day it’s the same routine for News 9 Storm Tracker Tom Pastrano.

Tom said, “I wake up every day. The first thing I do is look at the weather.”

It’s been that way his whole life.

He said, “It all started probably in the third grade. Way before chasing I was always fascinated with the weather. My parents would have to pull me off the roof when storms were coming.”

This year, Corey Butler will be chasing with him. Corey is a former News 9 engineer who got his first taste of chasing riding along as David’s field engineer.

Corey said, “I just kind got into it and got that itch. I enjoy it, like the scenery and cloud structure.”

The technical expertise he has also comes in handy.

Tom said, “While we’re driving, he’ll be connecting wires and troubleshooting things to get us back up and running.”
