Friends are remembering two innocent victims killed in a car crash last week, describing the victims as a loving mother and sassy, sweet daughter.

They were killed after troopers say a 14-year-old boy stole a truck and led officers a pursuit that ended when he crashed into the victim's SUV.

Friends said Lanise Dade and her 13-year-old daughter, Camyea, were the kind of people who could turn your whole day around with just a smile. They said this tragedy as senseless and a nightmare.

When friends talk about Lanise and Camyea, they describe the brightest spirits, with the brightest futures being cut short.

"She was very, very awesome mother to those kids," said Angie Fletes. "She loved them dearly with all her heart."

Fletes met Lanise and Camyea at their apartment complex, and said it was an instant friendship.

"She was always smiling, but she was also a gentle soul. She was quiet but kind," said Angela Lane.

Lane runs a mobile food service called BrightSpot and said Lanise and Camyea would help set up for the food giveaways.

"She was a fighter, she had goals and she worked for them," Lane said.

They said Camyea was a strong leader already, at age 13. Lane said the teen was always telling corny jokes, and was sassy, but so sweet, and gave the biggest hugs.

"Whenever you had a hard day and saw Camyea, your day was better," Fletes said.

Lane said Lanise worked several jobs to support her kids and had just moved into a house. She had met someone she loved and was going to get married. But last week that all changed.

Lanise and Camyea were heading to pick up Camyea's brother, 14-year-old Cornelius, from school. Now, Cornelius will grow up without his mom or sister.

"You start thinking, this is senseless," Lane said.

"It's unbelievable," Fletes said. "It's unbearable that two good people in the world have gone away from us."

Fletes and Lane can't wrap their heads around what they describe a nightmare, because Dade and Camyea only brought good to the world.

"Love each other, because you never know when your loved ones will be gone," Fletes said.

Cornelius is staying with family now.

Lanise's young nephew DJ was also in the car during the crash but is home from the hospital now doing okay.

The friends have set up a fundraiser to pay for a memorial service and help the teen.
