A moderate to heavy snowfall has enveloped much of the News 9 viewing area early Sunday.
Several inches have fallen in northwest Oklahoma, while the Oklahoma City metro has received a couple inches of snow by mid-morning. The primary impacts of this winter storm have been church closings and some travel issues. However, because the temperatures are hovering around freezing, the impact to travel isn't as bad as if the temperatures were in the 20s.
There are more than 2,800 power outages in the metro, according to OG&E's System Watch. This storm is not expected to produce the type of power outages that the recent ice storm did.
