Black Lives Matter OKC is on the ground in Louisville working to amplify their message after a grand jury's decision in Breonna Taylor's death.

"We are continuing to support one another, and that has always been the standard and the basis for those of us within movement work," Black Lives Matter OKC Executive Director T. Sheri Dickerson said.

A Kentucky county's grand jury made a decision last week to not indict any of the officers directly related to the death of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor.

"I was reassured Wednesday of why I have no faith in the legal system, in the police, and the law that was not made to protect us black and brown people," said Bianca Austin, an aunt of Breonna Taylor reading the words of Taylor’s mother.

Dickerson said they rally for reform.

"We are wanting to abolish the systems that continue to destroy black lives and BIPOC persons," Dickerson said.

OKC's BLM chapter is hoping to offer the support those in Kentucky need to continue to fight for their demands.

"They are saying they are demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, and that does not come with a price tag. It comes when the systems are changed to where they understand black women need to be protected," Dickerson said.

Dickerson said they plan to stay in Louisville as long as they are needed.

"We are not going to rest. No justice. No peace," Dickerson said.
