Trial Begins To Remove Oklahoma Co. District Judge Kendra Coleman

Coleman is facing removal after being accused of humiliating domestic abuse victims during her time as a district judge.

In June, the Oklahoma Supreme Court told this special court her actions warranted discipline. That same month, The Council of Judiciary Complaints called for Coleman’s immediate temporary suspension with pay until her August 31 trial.

The judge is also in the middle of another investigation for intentionally evading her 2017 state taxes.

In 2019, Coleman was indicted on four misdemeanor counts for failing to file.

Coleman denies the allegations against her.

Eight fellow judges and a Tulsa attorney will hear the testimony in this case.

The courtroom is closed off to the public, so Coleman’s 9 a.m. trial will be live streamed.

Within the past 50-years, the state has only removed six judges from office.
