Oklahoma City police responded to what it initially claimed was an attempted robbery Wednesday morning. Police later described the altercation as a shooting.
Authorities said gunshots were exchanged between a male suspect and an employee at a dispensary located near Northwest 38th Street and Newport Street.
The man arrived at the dispensary and fired shots just after 6 a.m. The employee inside the dispensary fired shots back at the suspect.
Police said someone a second employee, a woman, was in the parking lot and was inadvertently struck by gunfire more than once.
The woman was transported to OU Medical Center. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
Police are searching for the suspect.
