Tulsa Officer Shot During Traffic Stop Transferred To Rehab Facility

Tulsa police said an officer who was shot during a traffic stop has been released from the hospital July 15. Police said Officer Aurash Zarkeshan was released from a hospital to be transferred to a rehab facility.

Tulsa police said an officer who was shot during a traffic stop has been released from the hospital July 15.

Police said Officer Aurash Zarkeshan was released from a hospital to be transferred to a rehab facility.

Zarkeshan is one of two officers shot during a traffic stop a few weeks ago. The other officer, Sgt. Craig Johnson, later died in a hospital from his wounds.

Both the suspected shooter, David Ware, and his suspected getaway driver, Matt Hall, were arrested. In addition to murder, shooting with intent to kill and possession of a gun as a felon, David Ware is also charged with obstructing an officer and unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

Officers said Zarkeshan is doing well and is making great progress.

They said the transfer to a rehab facility is a good thing.
