The Live from the Lawn concert series was supposed to start in May, but it was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The foundation decided to wait to play it safe and June 26 was the best day to start the series.
“We are getting a little late start this year due to all of the shutdowns, but we are really excited to open up tomorrow night,” said Maureen Heffernan, the CEO of the park.
This will be the park's first concert since opening weekend. Heffernan said with positive cases on the rise they are keeping an eye on things.
“We are watching that very closely as everyone is and we are going to be following the mayor’s direction very closely in the city,” said Heffernan.
Overall, Heffernan said she feels confident welcoming people to the park since there is 4.4 acres of great lawn to allow for social distancing.
“You can see we have a big beautiful great lawn that will allow people to social distance and we are really going to be reminding people to do so,” said Heffernan.
The concerts will happen about twice a month and will start at 7:30 p.m.
