Bradd Brown announced his resignation as Bethany's city manager, according to a letter posted to the city's Facebook page.

The resignation will take effect on April 5.

In the letter, Brown, who has served as Bethany's eighth city manager in three years, said that he has "come to understand the reasons for such turnover."

News 9 reported on the City of Bethany's financial shortfall of more than $4 million back in December.

According to Brown, a "number of issues were discovered after the start of my tenure and many need to be addressed moving forward."

Brown's letter also said that he believes the City has been "stabilized" and the "framework has been set to move the City forward."

This is a developing story.
