Driver Injured In January Lincoln County Crash Dies

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a delayed fatality from a Jan. 19 crash in Lincoln County.

Officials said 30-year-old Rustin Eric Bender failed to negotiate a curve, departed the roadway and struck the end of a guardrail.

Bender's vehicle overturned twice and then struck a creek embankment.

Bender's condition after the crash is still under investigation, but OHP reported that he was neither wearing a seat belt nor did his airbag deploy.

He was admitted in critical condition at OU Medical Center.

OHP confirmed Bender's death took place on Feb. 26.
