Multiple Universities Ship To Online Classes For Spring Semester Due To Coronavirus

Thousands of college students from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma will finish the 2020 spring semester online.

At UCO, online classes will start up on March 28th. They also plans to have hotspots and laptops that students can check out and use for the remainder of the semester.

All three universities plan to allow students to continue living in on campus housing, but may try to find ways to reduce the number of people on campus.

Alternative plans are in the works for some graduations, others will be postponed.

In a statement, OU Interim President Joseph Harroz said in part, "COVID-19 presents an unprecedented challenge, but I'm confident as ever in the OU community's ability to navigate the coming days with care, wisdom, and a collective resolve."

Oklahoma State President Burns Hargis said "As always, I am proud to see the Cowboy Family pulling together at this critical juncture to support and encourage one another through the uncertainty."

For all universities across Oklahoma, changes could be updated further based on any new restrictions or advisement from the state and the CDC.
