The second Norman nursing home resident hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus has died, Mayor Breea Clark confirmed to News 9 Wednesday.
The two cases were from Grace Skilled Nursing and Therapy Norman. The nursing home released the following statement Wednesday:
We are saddened to report that we were notified late today that our second resident hospitalized with COVID-19 has passed away at Norman Regional Medical Center. Our hearts and prayers are with the family and with our team members also devastated by this news.
The city has been placed under a three week "stay at home" order unless residents are going to get necessities or going to essential jobs. The order goes into effect at midnight Thursday.
Mayor Clark said the decision is one of the hardest she's had to make.
